Acceptable Use
What you are welcome to do here, and the short list of things you are not.
Last updated:
This policy sets out what you may and may not do with this website. It forms part of the terms of service. The short version: use it as a visitor would, and do not try to break it, drain it, or misuse the channel it gives you to reach us.
You are welcome to
- Browse every page, in either language, as often as you like.
- Quote or link to our pages, with attribution, in your own writing.
- Contact us through the form about genuine enquiries, including ones that go nowhere.
- Read the site with assistive technology, a reader mode, or a content blocker.
- Save or print a legal page for your own records.
You must not
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any account or system connected to it.
- Probe, scan or test the security of the site without our prior written permission.
- Disrupt the site or degrade it for other visitors, including by denial-of-service or by any deliberate flood of traffic.
- Scrape or crawl the site at a volume or rate that burdens it, or in defiance of its robots directives.
- Use the contact form to send unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or bulk unsolicited content.
- Submit anything containing malware, or any content you do not have the right to send.
- Copy the site's content, design or code for reuse elsewhere without written permission.
- Misrepresent yourself or your organisation when contacting us.
Automated access
Search engine crawlers that respect our robots directives are welcome; that is what those directives are for. Any other automated collection — bulk scraping, dataset harvesting, or training-data collection — requires written permission first.
Rate matters as much as intent. A polite crawler that requests slowly is not a problem. A tool that hammers the site is, whatever it was written for.
Security research
We would rather hear about a vulnerability than discover it. If you find one, tell us through the contact form before publishing it, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it. Do not access, alter or exfiltrate anyone else's data while investigating, and do not run tests that degrade the site for other visitors.
Testing that stays inside those lines and is reported to us first is something we treat as help, not as an attack.
If this policy is breached
We may block access, at the network level or otherwise, without notice, and we may keep and disclose relevant records where the law requires it or where cooperating with an investigation calls for it. Serious breaches may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
Losing access to a website is the least of the consequences of unlawful conduct — nothing here limits any other remedy available to us.
Reporting misuse
If you see this site being abused, impersonated, or used as a reference in something that looks fraudulent, tell us through the contact form. Say what you saw and where, and it will reach the right person.
